Empowering Communities Through Agriculture: Kabaka Tukolerehamwe’s Line Planting Session in Masaka Luve Trial Plot
Last year, members of Kabaka Tukolerehamwe, an active group under the PAG-SDS Agriculture and Livelihood Project, gathered at Masaka Luve Trial Plot in Kasese for a crucial training session in line planting. Guided by the Agricultural Manager of Kasese, the group engaged in hands-on learning, reinforcing sustainable farming techniques that enhance productivity and food security.
This initiative reflects PAG-SDS’s commitment to empowering local communities by equipping them with practical skills to improve their agricultural yield. Line planting, a method that ensures proper crop spacing, plays a vital role in boosting harvests, reducing competition for nutrients, and enhancing overall crop health.
Through such collaborative efforts, farmers gain the knowledge and confidence needed to transform their livelihoods, contributing to food sustainability in Kasese and beyond. As we continue to work together, we look forward to seeing the positive impact of these agricultural practices on household incomes and food availability.
