South Bugisu Pastorate is one of the 9 pastorate in eastern region of Uganda with its pastoral offices located in Mbale town.

The pastorate comprises of 24 Assemblies, 46 Churches (branches),24 Pastors and 4 political districts of Mbale, Bududa, Manafwa and Namisindwa with a total of over 40,000 Christians.

It is located in the Administrative and political pastorates in Eastern Uganda. The pastorate is overseen by Rev. Bishop Magombe Stephen and administered by a Pastorate Secretary. It has seven departments namely; Education, Women, Men, Youth, Children, Evangelism & Missions; and the Mission Development Department (MDD) coordinated by the Coordinator of Ministries(COM).

Busoga Pastorate is one of the 9 Pastorate in eastern region of Uganda. The pastorate comprises of 18 Assemblies, 102 Churches (branches),19 Pastors and 11 political districts of Iganga, Jinja, Mayuge, Kaliro, Namutumba, Kamuli, Bugiri, Luuka, Bugwere, Namayingo, Buyende

The pastorate is being headed by Rev. Bishop Grace Swaga and administered by Rev. Ejemu Ignatius and Rev. Okoch Geoffrey.

• It is bordered by Bugiri in the South, Mbale in the north and Pallisa in the west; it’s also bordered by Kenya in the eastern side, the pastorate has its headquarters located on plot 55-61 busia road in Jinja town.

The pastorate is divided into 6 Assemblies, 50 Churches (branches),6 Pastors and 4 political district of Tororo (the headquarters), Butaleja in the West. Bugweri and Busia in the South.

The pastorate is currently being overseen by Rev. Bishop Kato Samuel and administered by Rev.Owori Micheal and Rev.Walyaula Ale

1. Thriving Education for Our Children.

We are proud to share that our program has made a significant impact on the educational journeys of our children. With the support provided, all participating children are thriving academically. They are not only attending school regularly but are also excelling in their studies, showcasing the positive effects of our initiatives on their educational outcomes.

2. Reduction in Malnutrition Cases.

Our efforts to combat malnutrition have yielded remarkable results. Through targeted interventions and community awareness programs, we have seen a significant drop in malnutrition cases among children in our community. This improvement is a testament to the hard work of our team and the commitment of families to prioritize nutrition for their children.

3. Project Infrastructure Completion.

We are excited to announce the successful completion of key infrastructure projects, including the fencing of our project area and the construction of the survival building and Overseer’s office. These developments not only enhance the safety and functionality of our facilities but also create a conducive environment for our programs to flourish.

4. Empowering Caregivers.

Recognizing the vital role caregivers play in the development of children, we have implemented training programs and established village savings and loan associations (SACCOs) to support them. These initiatives have empowered caregivers with essential skills and financial resources, enabling them to provide better care and support for their families.

5. Skills Development for Children.

Our commitment to holistic development is reflected in the skills training programs we offer. Children in our program have acquired valuable skills in tailoring, knitting, and hairdressing. These skills not only foster creativity and self-expression but also provide pathways for future employment and self-sufficiency.

6. Access to Education.

We are thrilled to report that the majority of children in our program are now enrolled in school, thanks to our financial support for school fees. This initiative has opened doors to education for many children who previously faced barriers to attending school, ensuring they have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

SUCCESS STORY:

1. Transforming Young Disciples Through Awana Discipleship and Media Evangelism

Busabi Child and Youth Development Centre was honored to be among the 54 Frontline Church Partners (FCPs) selected by Compassion International to pilot the new Program Cycle Adaptation (PCA) initiative. PCA represents a major shift from the traditional “one-size-fits-all” program model to a more personalized, child-centered approach. This new model emphasizes understanding each child’s unique context, amplifying their voice, and designing interventions that respond directly to their individual needs.

As part of this pilot, the church selected the Awana discipleship intervention to strengthen the spiritual growth and leadership capacity of children and youth. The results have been remarkable. Since the program began, measurable improvements have emerged across all key discipleship indicators:

• Bible reading increased from baseline 4% to 23%
• Understanding of Scripture rose dramatically from 4% baseline to 55%
• Bible verse memorization jumped from 55% to 93%
• Weekly small-group discipleship participation increased from 62% to 77%.
• These changes reveal a vibrant culture of spiritual growth taking root in the church. Participants consistently testify to how the discipleship program has shaped them: they have grown in confidence to share God’s Word with non-Christian classmates, learned how to pray more effectively, developed teamwork skills, strengthened their ability to follow instructions, improved their assignment completion habits, and have become more confident in public speaking. Many also express that memorizing Scripture and reading the Bible has become part of their daily lives, an important milestone in nurturing deeper faith and spiritual maturity.
• To extend the impact of discipleship beyond church walls, the church also launched a media and videography evangelism program. Through hands-on training, children and youth are learning how to operate various media equipment, manage audience engagement, write news articles, develop scripts, and produce podcasts, webinars, and panel discussions. They are also being equipped to film advocacy stories and create documentaries that amplify community voices.Today, the youth can confidently produce gospel music videos, capture ministry outreaches, and document church activities with increasing professionalism. This training is cultivating a new generation of digital evangelists—young people who share the gospel through compelling stories, creative media, and impactful content. It is also nurturing leadership, creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

  Together, the Awana discipleship program and the media evangelism initiative are shaping a community of spiritually grounded, skilled, and confident young leaders. Through PCA, the church is not only meeting the spiritual needs of its participants but also empowering them to influence their schools, families, and the wider community with the gospel—both in word and through modern media.

  SUCCESS STORY:

  1. Transforming Households Through the Heifer Rearing Project

  In 2024, Busabi Child and Youth Development Centre, through support from Compassion International, implemented a life-changing Heifer Rearing Project aimed at strengthening household incomes and long-term economic resilience. With UGX 54,000,000 received by the church, a total of 42 in-calf or ready-to-be-served heifers were procured and distributed to 42 caregivers under a revolving model where each caregiver will pass on the first calf to another family. Through this approach, the project positioned itself as a sustainable livelihood initiative capable of transforming families beyond the initial group of participants.

  The intervention directly benefitted 462 individuals, including 336 children and 126 adults, whose daily wellbeing is already improving as a result of more stable household economies. Monitoring reports indicate tangible progress, with households experiencing an average 20% increase in income, many now earning approximately UGX 200,000-300,000 per month through sale of milk. These earnings are expected to grow as the heifers begin producing and selling milk. Caregivers have also gained increased access to soft loans from village saving groups, using the heifer project as a foundation for additional agricultural investments.

  Beyond income gains, the project has restored dignity and pride among caregivers who once depended on strenuous and often demeaning casual work to survive. Families have reported improved relationships, reduced financial stress, and a renewed sense of self-worth. The project has lifted many households closer to or above the international poverty line of USD 2.50 per day, creating a positive ripple effect throughout the community.

  The heifer project has also strengthened the presence and image of the church. Community members now view the church as compassionate, development-focused, and deeply invested in improving lives. This goodwill has opened new doors for evangelism, as families tangibly experience God’s love through practical support like receiving a heifer. The project has therefore advanced both economic empowerment and spiritual transformation within the community.

South Teso Pastorate is one of the 9 Pastorates in eastern region of Uganda with its Pastoral offices located in Kumi town.The pastorate is being overseen by Rev. Bishop Okello Benjamin and administered by Rev.Omoding Stanislaus and Rev.Omoda Andre. It is divided into 34 Assemblies, 310 Churches (branches),34 Pastors and 3 political district Kumi, Bukedia and Ngora.

In the year 1993, following the aftermath of Karimojong cattle raids, political insurgency and later the devastating effects of HIV and AIDS, Pentecostal Assemblies of God Kumi conceived the idea of introducing and instituting development into the Church.

A seven member committee known as the “District Planning Committee” with the Biblical context Acts 6:1-7 was selected to design a development plan and to introduce development issues to the Church.

The task set before the committee was enormous and challenging since there were no funds to facilitate its work and there were no terms of reference to guide the members.

The Assembly Pastors started to support the process by contributing UGX 287,500 for development work. The organization works in all the 47 Assemblies of the Pastorate with a total of 271 local churches as highlighted below

Central Teso Pastorate is one of the 9 Pastorates located in Eastern region of Uganda with its Pastoral office located in Soroti town. It is being overseen by Rev. Bishop Omagor Matthew and administered by Rev. Agama Johnson Ezra and Rev. Erepu John Joseph.

The Pastorate head office is in Opiai “A” village in Soroti Sub County, about 360 km from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. The Pastorate is divided into 41 Assemblies, 322 Churches, 38 Pastors and 2 political districts Soroti and Serere with a total of around 40,000 Christians.

The pastorate is overseen by a Bishop and administered by a Pastorate Secretary. It has seven departments namely; Education, Women, Men, Youth, Children, Evangelism & Missions; and the Mission Development Department (MDD) coordinated by the Coordinator of Ministries(COM).

The North Teso Pastorate is one of the 9 pastorates in Eastern region pastorates being overseen by Rev. Bishop Odukatum Robert and administered by Rev.Okello Robert and Rev.Oonya David, and divided in to 3 political districs of Amuria, Katakwi, Kapelebyong

The pastorate is being headed by Rev. Bishop Ekamu Martin and administered by Rev. Epongu Charles  and Rev. Akamu Charles.
